About Ghost Train
About Ghost Train
Ghost Train at Thorpe Park is an indoor experience created by Derren Brown, opened in 2016 and currently the longest themed dark ride at the park. The experience combines a Victorian carriage, virtual reality headsets and live actors across multiple acts to create a horror narrative. Total experience runs around 13 minutes including pre-show.
Because the experience is long and load times are low, queues build quickly and can exceed 60 minutes on busy days. There is a minimum height requirement of 1.2m and the experience is rated 12+. Worth riding once for the production value alone, but understand it is an immersive theatre piece more than a rollercoaster.
Ghost Train has averaged about 13 minutes of wait over recent weeks, and is typically busiest around 12:00 and quietest around 20:00. Over the last two weeks it has been open around 61% of the park's operating hours. It's typically quietest on Fridays and busiest on Sundays.
