About Baron 1898
About Baron 1898
Baron 1898 at Efteling is a Bolliger and Mabillard dive coaster opened in 2015, themed to a 19th-century Dutch mine and the spirits of mineworkers. Riders sit in 6-across rows, are held above a 90-degree drop while a story plays out, then released into a 37.5m vertical drop. Two further inversions, top speed 90 km/h, ride duration about 90 seconds.
Baron 1898 is one of the best-themed coasters in Europe - the queue line, station and pre-drop hold are heavily integrated into the ride's narrative. Queues typically run 45-75 minutes on busy days. Single-rider queue saves significant time. Located in the Ruigrijk area.
Baron 1898 has averaged about 20 minutes of wait over recent weeks, and is typically busiest around 09:00 and quietest around 16:00. Over the last two weeks it has been open around 97% of the park's operating hours. It's typically quietest on Thursdays and busiest on Saturdays.
